JSF vs JQuery

Hi All ,

I am newbie , I want some one to explain to me the main differences/advantages/disadvantages of JSF vs JQuery ?

JSF is primarily server side, lots of Java JEE wiring going on

JQuery is primarily client side (Pure JavaScript)

Also, JSF 2 is now integrated with AJAX so you don't have to add another AJAX framework to it.
JQuery does have lots of useful UI components that JSF2 does not have (like datepickers) but one could use JSF component libraries like richfaces for that.

As an aside, the Primefaces component library uses Jquery under the hood..

So does RichFaces.

So, as you can see, JSF and jQuery work quite well together. It's not a JSF versus jQuery, it's JSF plus jQuery!

An IDE is no substitute for an Intelligent Developer.
