I search before asking this question here
1. Problem with jsr80
2. Java USB
3. IBM
4. libusbjava

By reading these & many more i got question in my mind...lots of pages older ..like 2003,2006,2010 etc
but now in 2012...java apps works on various platforms & usb also work on various platforms...
In actual scenario if any person try to create application for USB communication via java program...then how many platform supports that without error?
For that what requirements like particular jar file or some thing else?

Are you talking about direct communication with a USB port? Or simply with a USB device?

If it's something like a flash drive, just forget about it: it's a filesystem and it's got files; just read 'em or write 'em. The system will handle the rest.

If it's a specific device with it's own comms, you might have to read it's documentation.

Seems to me that you're putting the cart before the horse.

Isn't it funny how there's always time and money enough to do it WRONG?

Thanks Winston Gutkowski,

I am talking about communication like telephone system...
instead of telephone line/protocols here USB...
It just start so not know that much...but if theoretical prove that it possible then i will go ahead...
If usb not possible then which type i should use...any how i am using java...

In which case, you're almost certainly dealing with a device, and you'll have to refer to its documentation (unless there's a new "TT-over-USB" protocol I haven't heard about (distinctly possible), AND the phone uses it, AND there is a Java jar somewhere out there that supports it).

The problem with things like USB (particularly direct communication with a port) is that they don't really have anything to do with Java. Yes, the language runs on many platforms, and yes, USB does also; but that doesn't mean that they have much to do with each other. Simply put: The Java language provides no native support for USBs, so you'll be relying on the kindness of strangers.

Actually i have 1 device which created by electronics engineers which one side has USB port which should be connect to pc...another side it lots of type of connecting facility by which it can communicate with lots of other devices & after that normal telephone connected.(Yes i have to read/learn lot for understand that all).
when 2 telephone communicate with each other some data store in db... for handle all those things java program...is the concept...
So at end USB & java...so if java not support fully USB then can we use converter...i hear about serial port to USB...or something like that!
Its easy to design front end in java....very good swing program....but problem is back end...how to communicate with those all devices...?
It not necessary to within 2 days i have to write all code...but for start....from where i should start?...That's the question...
Instead of java if other language i choose then, i can get ready made program from internet...no need to write code just pay..install & use...but i want java & communication.
