I have completed BE (Computer Science) in 2004. I am 30 yrs old. I have an experience of 2 yrs in working in Java. I find the Mathematics field more appealing and would like to move into that along with Computers. I would like to pursue Masters in Mathematics. My questions are

1) Would you advice to go for course at this age.
2) Would it be good for my career?
3) Which are the best places to study Mathematics in India.
4) How should I plan my career.
5) Also please advice me on the career prospects for mathematics.

I am totally confused. Please help.

There is good demand for mathematicians in the financial sector in the field of quantative analysis. It also helps if you know programming, since a lot of quantatative analysts end up either using databases, or some just end up writing their own software

Why don't you try management degree with specialization in Finance. If you are in India, do it with top notch b-school institutions(if you have budget for that). An executive management course will cost you somewhere 13L to 20L. But you will get good opportunities to work on.

I recall someone from here posting a while back that they managed to switch careers to underwriting (I think). There were details in the post about which math papers this person passed etc. I tried searching for the thread but I cannot seem to find it. So yes it has been done before and you can switch careers anytime you want. If you have the determination to do it, go for it.
