I want to make a career in softwares,i have good knowledge of c,c++,j2ee,rational rose.i am in last year of BE.IT.help me,what skills should i have and various paths for career in s/w.hoping to get your help.

If you have the opportunity to get an internship or work an open source project, do that. It helps when getting an entry level job. Skillwise, you are good. Keep practicing. Build a website (just a play one) if you haven't yet.

And I really like that you said you want a career in software rather than a specific language. Your open view is much more realistic!
