Hi Guys,

I really need some experts help, might be some questions would be silly; but I would like to hear your voice. Hope these questions will help to all beginners.

  • Future of Java? Will Java be able to stand in the competitive IT world?

  • Choosing Java as a career path is right choice?

  • How long it will take to complete core Java to Advance Java? I mean Core Java, JSP, EJP, Hibernate, Springs will it take more duration?

  • Do we need depth knowledge in Databases? I mean do we need to study Oracle DB completely or Important things alone fine to work with Java? If so important things what are they?

  • Do we need depth knowledge in Webservers? I mean do we need to study Jboss completely or Important things alone fine to work with Java? If so important things what are they?

  • Which IDE is best to work Java? Eclipse, Netbeans or what else?

  • In Which part I should sharpen my skills, Jquery, JSF, JSP, EJB, Hibernate, Springs, Struts and which part I should concentrate on more.

  • Last but not least,

  • Is SCJP 6 K&B Book is enough for OCPJP? or need to buy any new Books? Since I had SCJP 6 in my hand.

  • Expecting your valuable responses, Thanks in advance.

    I'll handle this one:
Choosing Java as a career path is right choice?

This is as silly as asking "Choosing a hammer as a career path is right choice?"

A carpenter needs to have mastery of many tools. Java, and any other language, is just a tool.

I am not an expert, still would like to answer you.

    1) Future of java is decided by future, and presently Java is most popular language as per some of survey website( which i couldn't recollect now )

2)Choosing anything as career path is right choice when you love what you do and give your best

3)be it java or anything, you can not complete anything completely even after spending whole life.( you can complete java books though and get information required to cater your needs)

4)to work in java you dont need to know any DB

5)first go and learn java, then we can talk about web servers and app servers later

6)try all IDE's and stick to one you like the most

7)(Jquery, JSF, JSP, EJB, Hibernate, Springs, Struts) these are not parts ......... these are technologies, concentrate on the ones which you like and need.... (if you have got time, you can concentrate on all,no one stops you and information is wealth

    8) this is the only question about scjp which is related to this forum . study k & b, understand concepts thoroughly, rather than buying new book, just code ,code, code................. and code.......

    All the Best
    Don...

No one can be sure that future of java language is bright or not although 5GL may destroy java completely.
