jboss server.log setting question

Hi, We recently failed in our application (deployed in jboss 5) and when restart the jboss server and it went up. After that when we tried to see the server.log, it seemed overridden after restarted the server. It didn't append the logs, and we lost what happened on this failure.

After we saw the jboss-log4j.xml, the configuration is , then we figured out that if we change append is true we get appended the logs even we started the jboss. If we do this, do we get any problems? do the server still rolled the logs for each day ?

It's perfectly valid to change it to true. You won't run into problems if you do that.

Yes, it will if you have the relevant appender configurations.
