is samsung based android testing better for a fresher?

hello everyone,

I finished my graduation in the year 2011 and joined a company where they put me into Samsung based android testing!

My question, is it good to start a career with this testing profile?? We basically test the mails, voice mails, etc in the phone.

As far as I feel, this job is boring after sometime because its the same pre-determined test cases that we use to test the phone.

I'm really confused as what to do. Please help me by posting your reviews!!!

Thanks in advance!!

You are better at judging what you are interested at. If you find that you are good at something else other than what you are currently offered, speak to your manager and show him that you are good at something else.

What is/are your qualifications?

Are you destined for QA? Then get used to monotonous repetition.

If you want to develop, then work your new job while on your spare time, learn how to program Android.
Then one day show them a prototype of demo of something you have built.

All up to you...

I'm thinking to speak to my manager that I'm more interested in coding.

But only thing that's stopping me is that he will get a bad impression on me and thinks that I'm not interested about the project.

I've done my BE in Information Science and Engineering. We basically study,

1. programming languages such as, C, C++, Java, C#, Assembly level language.
2. Scripting languages like perl, javascript etc...

Apart form these we also studied software testing, software engineering, software architecture, micro-processors etc..

As you say, I will show my interest in development and then switch domain.

One last question. I just wanted to know if we can grow equally even in testing domain as well??

Thanks for your patience in replying for my question. Have a great day

Your One last question contradicts what you claim your interest to be. You seem to be interested in growth and not in development. I guess your manager might be intelligent enough to figure this out and this could eventually create not a good impression about you.

If you want growth, be passionate in whatever you do. Be it QA, Software development or whatever it may be.

Of course,

Depending on how hard you work and prove yourself, you could advance quickly in QA.

But, again is it what you really want to do?
