How to SMTP user and password ?

Hi,

Am want to write a program to send mail from java program. I got code from google SMTP client program but in that program

PasswordAuthentication(username, password) is there . My problem is what too create username and password for SMTP server

You sign on to your server as an administrator and go through its process to set up a user. How exactly you do that, depends on your server.

Or do you already have an account on some server? If you do, then just use that account's user ID and password. At any rate the answer has nothing to do with Java programming.

Hi Paul,

When i am using gmail smtp servername and my username and password its working my aim is not that. I want send mail from my pc (LocalHost) for that perpuse what i have to do please give me reply

You can run a mail server on your machine. Most Unix/Linux versions come with sendmail, or you can use something like Apache James.
