Hi !

When I look for downloading a 64 bit JVM, I see some differences for Java6 and Java7...

- Java6 has a Windows 64 bit as well as Windows 64 bit Itanium option
- Java7 has only one Windows 64 bit.

is it that Java7 dosnt support Itanium Architecture or the single download can be used for all the architectures(Intel,AMD and Itanium) ?

shedding light on the about question makes my build issue resolved which I am struggling from past one week..

Thank you,
Marco

Please SearchFirst.

Googling up java 7 itanium brings up some information in the first hit; unfortunately it seems the Itanium platform has been written off already.

Thank you.

Have been struggling from past few days but was not able to conclude concretly. My actual issue is with AMD and Intel and not with Itanium.

I have already did some homework. Making a AMD build and running it on Intel Architecture. The initial testing seems promising.

But need to ensure this will work fine for ever and also even for other platforms eg: Linux.

Just to ensure to get the faster response posted in two different forums.

Apologize for that !

Thank you,
Marco

Minor nit, Oracle wants to abandon support for Itanium for their self-named DBMS, probably because it never was a hit in the market. But Intel sued them to keep supporting it for the length of the contract.

If I were in charge, I would have written off Itanium at the turn of the century.
