Hello,

I am working on one servlet in the lib folder of my application.

Sometimes when I am working with one of the servlets, the entire collections of servlets also recompiles.

Could you help me figure out why this occurs?

Thanks,

Bartender

Compiling a servlet is nothing different than compiling a plain Java class.
So the answer to you question depends on how are compiling the servlet?
Do you use Ant? Any editor like Eclipse? Hand compile through command line?
You need to TellTheDetails.

Why is a build file in the util dir in the first place?
Why do people use ant?

Ant is a build tool so you don't have to keep typing in the command to compile. build.xml is how you tell Ant what to do and where to find the files.

The official one is good. As is the book 'Ant in Action".

I second the vote on Ant in Action. It's a must-have for anyone doing work with Ant.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
