Passed OCAJP 7 (1Z0-803) with 91% and now preparing for OCPJP 7 (1Z0-804)

Hallo guys,

I just passed the exam OCAJP last week with 91%. I am planning to take the OCPJP exam after 3 month from now. Can anyone tell me where can I find a good book and a mock exam to practice for OCPJP 7 (1Z0-804) exam? Because everything what I find on the internet is for the older version of the exam.

Did you answer any question that used static blocks:

class Test {
    static int total = 10;
    static {                   // static block starts
        total = 20;          // access static var in static block
    }                            // static block ends
}

I am preparing for this exam. The exam objectives for this exam mentions static methods and variables, but not static blocks.

I also gave this exam, i can't recall exactly but still you have to learn this for exception chapter, where you have to know about ExceptionInInitializerError.

Hallo Lewis,

I second what ankita said. You do need to understand the static blocks for the ExceptionInInitializerError. Just understand the concept and don't waste much time on it!

I am planning to give OCAJP 7 certification exam. I am well versed with java concepts just need to study and learn them if required.

I bought the K&B SCJP 6 book. Can you guys tell me how to go about preparing for the exam and how much preparation time is required for it( I can study about 6-7 hours a day).

Hallo Anshul,

Well it depends on you. I studied like 8 hours a day and i made the OCAJP exam after 5 weeks. The only thing you need to study is the K&B book.

I believe you answered 90 questions in 150 minutes. Was 150 minutes good enough to answer 90 questions?

Is more than enough. I had more than 15 min when i finish all questions i think.
