Using a HttpGet request along with a cookie to obtain some data

I am developing an android app which attempts to send a get request to a certain URI, along with a cookie.
This cookie has some information (a token) which I have already obtained during the login. It identifies the session uniquely.
This process will return some information about the session which I will then display in my app.
Does anyone know how to accomplish this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been at this for three days and I have gotten nowhere. All other help online hasn't helped me.
It is sorta covered in the
