Hi all,

I have cleared OCPWCD exam today with 98%. This forum helped me quite a lot. I would like to thank you all for your help and contribution

My special vote of thanks to Bryan for this amazing book Head First Servlets & JSP. It's a fabulous book to read. It helped me burn all the concept right into my mind It would not have been possible to be so calm while taking such theoritical exam. This book never discouraged me

I look forward to read few more Head Firsts ;-)

Thanks a lot again

@Nirav:

I have actually taken OCPWCD5 and not OCEJWCD. But as far as i know the main difference between these 2 exam is inclusion of Servlet spec 3.0 in OCEJWCD instead of Servlet spec 2.4. This spec has approx 15-20% weightage in the exam. So you need to get material and resource for these. You can go thorugh official Specs. Otherwise the exam is quite the same. Having said all these, it's better you browse through OCEJWCD forum for more info.

There is another topic in the forum regarding OCEJWCD exam. i have mentioned the link below. You can browse through the same for info.

But i can share my experience with you. I read HFSJ once thoroughly without missing any topics. Attempted mock tests given at the end of the chapter. But this book has lot of information/concepts in it. So by the time, i reached JSP topic in the book, i forgot many things covered in the Servlets part. So after completing the book i quickly brushed up the book once again (I did it in 3-4 days). Then I started taking mock tests (I took 2 exams) after which i discovered my weaknesses and the topics i am not comfortable with. i read those topics from HFSJ. Then i was confident and felt myself ready for the exam. It took 1.5 months for me to prepare for the exam ;) I have my job on going as well, so i was not able to spare sufficient time. Hardly 1-2 hours a day and that too not regularly. So you can complete preparation in 1 month also. I would recommend you not to skip any of the topics in the book. It's a beautifully written book. This exam is easier compared to OCPJP6. So don't worry much. I hope this helps

Thanks Mr. Shroff.

I certainly mistook the two to be same. Embarrassing mistake on my part..

Thank you once again for the link. But I suppose the syllabus of SCJP and OCJP are different. Moreover, I look forward for Java 7 certification. Should we consider this link appropriate for the same as well?
