Hi,

I am a Java newbie.
I was trying to test an existing web application which perfectly runs until I restarted the tomcat instance.
After I restarted the tomcat instance, I started to get SQL Server exceptions below.
I verified that SQL Server is up and running via SQLCMD and was able to do select stmts from the table.

Could it be that SQL Server is not responding after I restarted Tomcat instance because it ran out of connection to get from the connection pool?
Please help.

Thanks!!!

So did you change anything when you stopped tomcat?

Did you do any work to the database?

Can you log into the database by remote application, like sqlplus (oracle) or SQL squirrel.

The conversation in the room is saying that maybe tomcat doesn't do hot reloads until started or told to so any changes made to config files before your restart may not have been picked up, so may be wrong. So manually check all the database config settings.

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for replying.
It turns out JDBC driver was incompatible as I previously upgraded JRE.
After I downgraded my JRE, everything worked fine again.
