Messaging working in Tomcat deployed on Windows but failing in Tomcat deployed on Ubuntu

I hope I can ask this question in a way that allows someone to help me.

I have created a chat room type solution where up to four users can join a particular "room". I have a Java RMI server running as a stand alone socket. UI clients call the war file deployed in Tomcat which instantiates an RMI client which calls the RMI server. Up to four UI clients can join a room where they will be informed of what each other UI client in the room is doing.

BlazeDS has a solution for creating a chat solution like this using asynchronous messaging. I deployed BlazeDS in Tomcat on Windows and had success with BlazeDS passing asynchronous messages to all clients subscribed to the topic. Then I was forced to migrate to Ubuntu.

The same code on Ubuntu is failing. I have print statements on the server that show the Flex client connecting and subscribing to receive messages. However, nothing ever happens at my Flex client (it never receives any messages) and the server eventually prints the following log data:

Can anyone give me any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
