email alert to every reply i get for the new topic question i asked in coderanch forum automatically

I would like to get an email alert to every reply i get for the new topic question i asked in coderanch forum automatically. How can i do it. Book Marks and Watches link I have bunch of topics under watch but I never got any email when replies came to those topics. Please advise. Thanks in advance

There are two separate options that control this. Both are accessible under the "My Profile" link at the very top of the screen.

When you are in the profile screen, there is a section with the heading "Preferences".

There is an option there for "Send e-mail notification when posts get answered". If you turn that on, you should get an email notification anytime someone responds to a post you created and/or posted in.

There is also an option to "Send notification for all new messages" - this would result in you getting a notification email every single time someone replies, whether you have come back to read the earlier replies or not.

this option is already 'yes' for me but I never got email.

Now I made this also yes. Hopefully now onwards i get alert notifications.

Also, (1) check your profile to see that your email address is correct, and (2) look in your spam folder to make sure the messages aren't ending up in there.

Email in my profile is correct

I am not still gewtting emails yet. I have not seen emails in spam either. Please advise.

Well, that means that the email address set in your JavaRanch profile is wrong or broken or for some reason can't receive mail. Check your profile and either update your address there, or find out what's wrong with the account and get it fixed.

I just looked at our logs and I know what the problem is. Give us a few minutes and I'll see if we can fix this issue.

I believe you should start receiving mail notifications for the topic replies starting now. Let us know if it's working.
