I am planning on using your book as one of my textbooks for teaching second semester Java at our college. Do you have any auxilary materials that could be used? It would be GREAT if someone would develop chapter by chapter power points or more sample problems.

I should be able to find time (over a weekend or two) to do this (create the powerpoint presentation against the chapters).

Yes, when I wrote the Java Pocket Guide, I kept the SCJA exam in mind, so you should find this resource very helpful:

Note: I am currently updating the Java Pocket Guide for Java SE 8.

Thanks. With the price of the test, we want to give the students as much guidance as possible so they do not have to retake it. I will certainly look at those other reference and will watch for the 8 update. If you get the power points done, please let me know. The class is being taught right now this fall and we are waiting to do the cert materials at the end after the book is actually available. I am hoping my copy will arrive any day so I can get started with the prep. Thanks again!

You'll also want to keep an eye of the OCAJP FAQS page, as new resources become available:

I'm actually interested in getting a copy of those Powerpoint slides, too. Any chance you could send a copy my way? Your book is great, and having slides to go with it makes for even better illustration. Thanks!
