Hi all

I'm interested in pursuing the web component developer cert. Which version (v5 or v6) do you recommend?

From the SCWCD links, I read v5 cert is using J2EE 1.4 API. Is this still true today? Cos JEE5 specs is servlets 2.5 and JSP 2.1. What APIs is the v6 exam using?

Also should the v6 exam a replacement for the v5 one, despite v6 called itself "expert" and v5 "professional"? But there is no upgrade from v5 to v6 anywhere.

Always go for the latest version

There is no upgrade exam probably because there are too many differences between J2EE1.4 and JEE6. Don't worry about "expert" or "professional", just consider that as a marketing label.

I have looked through the exam objectives for both v5 and v6. The first impression about v6 for me is that it somewhat revolves around MVC design pattern a lot. Is this because of the Java EE 6 web profile thing?
