This week's book giveaway is in the OCAJP forum. We're giving away four copies of OCA Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide 1Z0-808 and have Jeanne Boyarsky & Scott Selikoff on-line! See this thread for details.
1. Java doesn't have commands. Java has statements. The cases in a switch statement must be compile time constants, numeric up to Java 6; Java 7 introduced switching on String values.
2. Let's see what you've tried, in the form of an SSCCE <- link as that will help us to understand what exactly you're trying to achieve; 'switch command between tabs' probably makes sense to you, since you know what you're trying to do, but it's rather incomprehensible to me.
There are no new questions, but there may be new answers.
