Learning Java

Hello Guys,

I am Waleed Qureshi.

I have over 4 years of experience developing applications primarily in Java/J2ee technologies. I am currently working as a Senior Software Engineer and I also have prior experience of around 2 years working as a Technical Trainer in NIIT Ltd.

I have always had the desire to share my knowledge with people as I take great pride in that, that's why I have been into training earlier.

I have been thinking about getting back to the training domain since long, but finally I have come up with some courses and schedule.

I would be initially taking a course on 'Programming in Java' which would be specifically aimed at guys who are either new to programming or are starting their programming careers with the Java language. It would help to know the basics of Java plus a good insight into developing code in the Java programing language. I would be taking other basic and advance courses in Java including training on OCPJP 6.

And I would be taking this initial course free of cost, that is this is a completely voluntary initiative ! But I would be able to train only a maximum of 10 learners for this first batch. I would be taking these types of free of cost courses afterwards also in between the normal ones.

There is no specific eligibility for applying to this course but it would prove more beneficial to the guys who are either new to Java or have just started programming in Java.

I have created a simple form at https://sites.google.com/site/startwithjava2012/. Anyone interested can please submit the form with the required details and I will get back to them shortly.

I would be delivering the lectures in New Delhi, as I am currenly based there. So only those of you apply who currently reside in the Delhi/NCR area.

Selection of the 10 students would be made strictly in a random manner. I hope to take the batch around the first week of October.

Again, You can submit the form at :

https://sites.google.com/site/startwithjava2012/

Please write to me at waleedahqu@gmail.com for any queries, but please try to be brief

Thank You ,
Waleed

Ok I won't, but I was thinking if I can re-post it in the 'Beginning in Java' forum, it would prove more helpful to find more candidates who are in need of good training for very little costs and as this is a free of cost venture, I would love to find the right candidates, although anyone can apply.

Do you have any alternate suggestions guys?

Thanks,
Waq

I think this one post is enough, re posting is against of coderanch rules and such a re posting will be simply locked.

You might be thinking that there is more traffic of people visiting "Beginning in Java", but according to me its not true. The place where you have posted will be seen by almost all the people who also visit "Beginning Java", so don't worry.

But if you have finally made your mind to post again then there's one suggestion i can give i.e. you can try here because your post is really not a doubt.

Thanks for your suggestion Rameshwar, But I think posting there on the advertising forum would not be appropriate for my course as I am not posting on behalf on any computer institute or center, rather I am doing for a completely different cause.

I think you are right, anyone interested can come to know about this here and that's enough for me.

Anyways thanks for your advice.

I meant any desired forum i.e "Beginning Java" as you want.

And

This is called Ranch Office http://www.coderanch.com/forums/f-10/Ranch-Office

Oh I got it. Well, I think let me keep it here for a while and see how much aspiring java learners get to know about this, or otherwise I will think about contacting the Ranch office.

Thanks again,

1)There is neither a need to post in Ranch Office nor to contact them for this. People do visit the place where you have posted. Ranch Office is for any problems you are facing while using the website.
2) You can post them on some other Java forums, if you haven't for example
"java-forums.org",
"daniweb" etc
Just google Java forums.

@ankita - Just look in this thread properly and you will come to know what i am talking about.
Ok i make it more precise. Just look your reply after my 1st reply in this thread. You have quoted entire reply i.e. Traffic , the link to advertisement page etc and finally what you wrote was related to post but not the entire thing you quoted.
Cheers!!

Yes it is possible to change the topic tittle but you or me cannot do that, only Moderator (Bartender) or people with higher ranking like Sheriffs, Marshals etc can do that. So you might have to wait until they see your post.

Oh, can I contact them about this or do you know someone with a higher ranking whom I can contact on this?

I am really not sure how to do this for a change in tittle of topic.

But you might see a "Report" button on all post or replies other than your replies, when you place your mouse over it, it says "report to moderator". Thats one way of telling the moderator but not for a change in tittle of topic. So please don't do anything for the time being because i am not sure so someone else might guide you.

Guys I have got very few responses till now, I think there are many who want to learn Java and who would love to attend this good opportunity but they just aren't seeing this due to various reasons like the subject of this topic, etc.

I need some suggestions please because I am taking this batch from next Friday.

Thanks in advance,

Waleed

1) According to me there is no problem with the title as everyone wants to learn Java and hence "learning java" is fine.
2) The most important thing is that this is an International forum, there are people from all parts of world, so this means its expected to get less responses for taking your classes in New Delhi. I think even people from India who stay at places other than delhi will hesitate to come to delhi and take your classes. So you are expected to get responses only from people staying in delhi, and there might be hardly any or even 0 people here at Ranch who are from delhi and thus you are getting less response.
