Can anyone help me how to copy the war file to a specific location using maven.

I think you need the cargo plugin: http://cargo.codehaus.org/Maven2+plugin

I used following tag.


and mentioned username and password in <servers> tag of settings.xml.

But i'm facing following exception:

Oh, what you really meant is that you were having problems deploying the war to a remote repository. Well, that's a different issue entirely and the cargo plugin will not help you there. (It is usually best to initially post the error that you are running into, doing so will get a solution quicker.)

Anyway, the problem appears to be that the remote repository you are using requires authentication to deploy artifacts. You need to add an entry in your settings.xml that looks like this:
