Hi guys,
Finally, the long wait is over I checked the status in Pearson and found that I have passed for OCMJEA5 parts 2 & 3
Checked at http://certview.oracle.com and the status is now "PASS". The status of essay exam is still "TAKEN" I haven't got any emails so far from Oracle
This is my fifth week after submitting my assignment ("Utility International" ) and appearing the essay exam.
I haven't done the mandatory course so far. Do we get any email / credentials from Oracle without appearing the course? The scorereport in Pearson says so!

Thank you Fernando. i can't give the real questions because of the non disclosure agreement with Oracle, but here are some general information
most of them were general design questions, asking how / why / what you did with respect to your assignment
how you met NFR's, security etc.

in a nutshell, be prepared to defend your architecture, your choices with frame works, persistence etc.
there were 8 questions and you have 2 hours to answer. i barely finished all questions in time

all the best!

Hi Rajeev
"how" and "what" is ok...but "why" seems a bit odd?
"Why does your design handle security?
How would?

hi Fernando, sorry, i should have been more clear
"why" comes into play with all your design choices..
for ex: why do you chose to handle security in this way? in other words pros and cons of your approach; or rather you can throw a comparison between different approaches and you selected this approach based on such and such reasons which fits into your solution. ( this is just an example )

hope i am making this clear. please let me know if you have any questions

Thank you Koilraj.
I got the email from Oracle yesterday !
"Congratulations! You have passed the Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect certification. You are among the elite 1% of certified Java professionals who have gone on to achieve the Java Enterprise Architect certification.

You have received a passing score. Passing grades do not receive a score, just the pass. A failing grade will receive section level scoring so that a candidate may isolate the area of failure and resubmit their assignment. Numeric scores are only provided on failures."

Congrats Ranjeev.

I am in the process of taking the Part 2 and 3. I got my assignment and started working on it. It is slightly confusing what the next set of actions to take, once I have completed part 2.

1. Upload assignment in Pearson Vue website
2. Book appointment with Pearson Vue for Essay exam
3. Complete the essay exam.. Is it written exam or type in computer? Do we get result for part 3 in the test centre itself?
4. But the final result will be available after few weeks in CERTVIEW ?

Can you elaborate on this process please ?

Thanks,
Kali

Hi Natarajan, your are absolutely right about the sequence of steps!
For #3 essay exam, it is like part 1 exam, except that instead of objective type questions, you have to answer 8 essay type questions (type answers in computer)
i didn't find any limit on number of words or so. I wrote as much as I could.
After essay exam, you don't score report immediately, you get a report that your essay exam will be graded and they results will be available later.
For me it took around five weeks. I guess it varies from person to person. Some people in the forum said they got results within 10 days of appearing the essay exam.

good luck to you!!
