We were running our app on Tomcat 4 Java 1.5 64 bit for the last 2 years with no issues.
We recently upgraded to Tomcat 6 and same Java 1.5 64 bit andstarted to experience problems.
After running for 24-48 hours One of the functions would error with a SocketException There is no process to read data written to a pipe and lnly a re-start would fix this issue. We captured the memory snamshots and find that Java and native heaps are fine.
We are thinking maybe problem with the OS and AIX may have to be updated or we should use Java 1.6
