Good morning guys and thank you very much for your quick responses..

i am new to JSP technology.. i did simple jsp program, then using tomcat apache, i executed that program.. but my doubt is, why we should put those files within webapps folder.. please clarify my doubt..

Primary use of webapps folder is the location for all web applications in tomcat server.

You must place the files within the proper structure of a web application as defined by the Servlet specification. Tomcat looks for these by default in its web apps folder. But web apps can be placed anywhere in the file system and Tomcat can be configured to look for them each in their own locations.
