Can not find *.jasper file in JasperStudio

Hi there,
I have downloaded a copy of the latest stand-alone JasperStudio (1.3.1) and created a simple report, got the report.jrxml and can save to many formats but not the .jasper file?
Where or how do I compile the Jasper file? I have gone and looked in the same folder where the *.jrxml was generated but the .jasper file isn't there either.
Please help?
