I want to start developing web applications using jsp and servlet.I have basic knowledge of java(OCAJP certified), so where should i start and what are the best resources to learn them?I had a look at books at amazon, but they were pretty old.
So what should be my approach to learn them as if i am starting from zero?
Also what are the prerequisities that would later help me while learning jsp/servlet?

If you plan to be working with Servlets 2 (rather than newly-available Servlets 3), any book from the past 8 years or so should be up-to-date enough.

Be sure to concentrate on modern JSP with the JSTL and EL and not obsolete scriptlets.

I don't know anything about jsp or servlet. What would you recommend - servlets2 or servlets3?
I guess i will have to learn servlet before learning jsp.And which book or online resources would you recommend to learn servlets/jsp?

I would recommend Murach's Java servlets and JSP book.
I love it.

go to www.murach.com
you can purchase it there for less than what you'd pay at bookstores.

: )

Depends. What do you want to do? What servlet container will you use?

And which book or online resources would you recommend to learn servlets/jsp?

The Head First servlets book is a perennial favorite.

Meh. I haven't found any that yank my chain.

And above all, avoid roseindia! Horrible!
