Hi ranchers, in view of a programming contest coming up on the 20th of october 2012, i'll like you guys to put up some words for me, i mean how does an online programming contest looks like and what are the things i should read more since i'll code in Java. This is a link to some sample problems i've not been able to get through and OMG its next week! Any advice would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Not sure what yo're looking for - the site you linked to has an example problem set. By studying that it should become clear what kind of knowledge is useful for entering the contest, no?
