please refer the URL at http://jmeter.apache.org/usermanual/glossary.html

it says "Elapsed time : JMeter measures the elapsed time from just before sending the request to just after the last response has been received."

also it defines Max - The longest elapsed time for the samples with the same label. max is one of the statistical parameter in Jmeter summary report listner.

i did not understand what does the last response means. does it mean that for example i sent 100 requests to my say tomcat container and say my max comes out to be 156 seconds. does it mean that some of the users will take 156 seconds to get the response ? what i did not get is the part saying LAST RESPONSE HAS BEEN RECEIVED.

please help me since this jmeter jargon is troubling me alot. i searched on the internet also but did not get any satisfactory answers
