I get emails like the below every once in a while (I x'd out the contact info). I don't know any of these people. Are these the "wrong numbers" of the Internet, or is there some purpose to sending spam like this? Maybe they're steganographic codes?
I thought I sent this last night but dont think it went thru

Hey guys
I know we all had enough of each other this past weekend but I dont think we got to the sick of e/o point yet. Let's get there this Fri night by celebrating Josh's 31st.
Also if we can get physically sick from drinking that would be great too.
So dinner will be where else but at Schotty's at 7:30.
200 West 72nd apt 16g.
Tequila and sushi to start the festivities off right.
Hope you can make it.

is your email address something that is easily confused? My father used to be "fred@...", whereas I was "fredb@...". When my wife and I first started dating, she sent a Harry Potter 'screamer' email...one that when you opened it, it would start yelling really loudly at you.
Except she left off the 'b'...
I think to this day (my father passed about 6 years ago), every once in a while someone tries typing my address by hand, leaves off the 'b', and I never see it.
perhaps these people are trying to email someone with an address one or two characters off from yours?

Tequila and Sushi sounds like fun. So does Deb getting drunk.
If it were me I would show up at the address...with a printout of the email.

I once had an e-mail address that was simply my first name @ providername.nl (my first name is not very common in the Netherlands).
Every now and then I got e-mail from two grandparents, thinking they were sending e-mail to their grandson. Despite me replying a number of times, explaining that I'm not their grandson and that they got the address wrong, they kept on sending me e-mail...

Convince them that you are their grandson and wait for the inheritance

I received (via e-mail) a whole wedding photo album for a Greg Charles who apparently lives in Canada, and routinely get confidential business e-mails meant for a Greg Charles in southern England. Last week, I got a roofing quote for a place belonging to Greg Charles in the Virgin Islands, and have been receiving a stream of college recruitment letters for a Greg Charles who would seem to have a very bright future ahead of him ... well except for the fact that he's not getting the letters.

A date? Heck, I've got a bride in Canada! You want to see a picture?

Lets just hope she doesn't decide to divorce you and take you for half of everything you own
I once got an email from a guy with the same email address as mine but with .com rather than a .co.uk ending. He told me in no uncertain terms he was absolutely fed up with getting emails from people in the UK and to make sure they stopped sending them to him right away, a few weeks later I received a groveling email from him saying could I please forward the attachment his wife had accidentally sent to me and then wiped off her computer.

OK, today I got an absolutely legit, genuine eVite for a Sheva Brachot (wedding celebration) for some people I have definitely no idea who they are; but there is a pattern emerging. "Deb's" friend lives at a Manhattan-sounding address, and the wedding party is at a restaurant in Manhattan on the same block as Deb's friend! It sounds like I must be mixed up for some particular person. Wonder if I should let them all know.

Or you could turn up at the wedding and get some free food and drink.

I emailed everybody and told them about their mistake. No responses, though, which makes me wonder again...
