Troule with $$(this)

Just came across some code using $$(this) to store data in a function:

Unfortunately I can't work out what's the deal behind the $$(this) thing.
How do I get back morestuff in another function/ context??

Google has not been a friend to me, and yes - I am some sort of a beginner.

Cheers
Stephan

$$ is not part of native JavaScript. It must be from a library, and you need to tell us which one in order to get any help.
