The intended audience is people with little or no experience in programming. You might find some useful programming techniques in the later chapters, certainly. I sneak in a number of good coding practices and design pattern-oriented techniques into the discussion.
That said, I do this by way of getting the reader to think in an object-oriented way as much as I can. This discussion might be lost on an experienced programmer who already knows the basics. If, however, you'd like to see a way of teaching advanced techniques to learning programmers, I think this book is a great choice.
