Tomcat 7-WAR file works on Windows XP but not on Linux

The issue is WAR file when deployed in Tomcat 7 on Windows XP has no issues during the start up.The same WAR file gives all sorts of exceptions like org.apache.jasper.ServletException during start up of Tomcat 7 on linux box.Currently i am out of options in trying to figure whether it is bug in Tomcat 7 itself or there are settings which need to be changed on the linux box.I would appreciate if anyone can provide any leads on how to debug this issue.

Welcome to the JavarRanch, "shreedaddy" You made your email address your display name, but what we really wanted was your actual name, so please fix it as soon as possible.

There is no reason why you should have to modify either the WAR or the Tomcat setup to run Linux.

So most likely, either you included j2ee implementation jars in your WAR's WEB-INF/lib directory (which you shouldn't to), or the Linux Tomcat install failed. Since installing Tomcat on Linux is generally just an "unzip" operation, that's generally only going to happen if you ran out of space while unzipping or had some sort of filesystem problem. If you are running RHEL/CentOS, they use the OS installer for Tomcat, however, so that would be different.

Thanks for the suggestion.

The issue is not with Linux but WAR is throwing exception when being deployed by Tomcat 7 on a Linux machine.Did not run into any issues with the WAR on windows xp.Using the same version of which is7.0.29.
