storing large image in a variable

in java how to store images of large size (greater than 200 kb) in a variable .

i want to store the image in database using Hibernate , that's why in persistence class i need to define the datatype of the image.
then i wnted to transfer the image from one page to another page . please help me . thanks

A BinaryStream is a common choice.
