I'd like to read about the US election from a newspaper that isn't focused on Hurricane Sandy. The New York Times and Huffington Post do have stories on the topic, but I feel like they are being influenced by what is on our minds. Any recommendations?

The LA Times or the San Jose Mercury News. The BBC also has a special section on the election: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-15949569

When I want a different view on anything in the US, I read The Economist.
Very serious reporting, with a British viewpoint. Also great writing.
