Hi,
Can you please guide me about theoretical capacity prediction and where can I get this information?
Is it recommended to take the decision of hardware and network configuration after the result of load testing of the real application?
Thanks,
Sumit

Hi Sumit,
Regarding capacity planning hints will be provided in the assignment itself. You need to understand them thoroughly and depict an approximate number of users for the application. Based on this how your application has to be deployed, with how many number of managed servers in Cluster, all these information are to be provided in assumptions as well.
For reference go through the link http://java.dzone.com/articles/my-path-scea-5
Thanks,
Kumar.

No. You should have a rough idea just from estimating. For example, how many users are you expecting at the same time? do you need redundancy? etc

My assignment presents no information on number of enabled users, simultaneous or transaction amounts....anything!
What do you guys think I should do related capacity planning
Regards

THen you can assume things. I assume there will be less than X ___ per hour. Lets you plan and doesn't make it overly complicated.

I prefer justify in my document that I decide not to provide details like hardware configurations, OS, CPU, Memory, Disk capacity rather than assume these values since my assignment presents no information about it. This is much simpler and safer.
Regards.
