HI,
In Java programming Generic and Collection play a very important role. Generic is introduce in J2SE5. A common use of Generic is when using a Java Collection that can hold objects of any type, to specify the specific type of object stored in it.
you first start with collection and then approach for Generic.
these links are good to start learning with generic and collection.

You can also refer O'Reilly Java Generic and Collection book http://shop.oreilly.com/product/9780596527754.do.

Hi Palak

According to me, for understanding Collection and Generics go ahead in parts since they are two separate topics although they are related. Generics follows Collections. Do not try to read in a single shot.
More importantly, understand practically as much as possible. Make programs and learn by experimenting with them and it will definitely help you.

All The Best... Cheers!!!
