64 bit java and 32 bit java side by side on same machine

Is there any problem with installing both 32 bit sun (oracle) java and 64 bit sun java on the same machine with the different default installation directories?

I have a new 64 bit notebook and I have a groovy program that used to work on the 32 bit windows 7 and it does not work now on windows 8 64 bit with 64 bit java. I'd like to install 32 bit java on the same machine and see if that fixes the problem but I don't want to muck up the existing 64 bit java.

"Hello World" from groovy seems to work fine so this is a mystery.

Thanks
Siegfried

There is no difference between 64 bit and 32 bit class files.

So does that help?

I'm worried about native files like jvm.dll. I'm guess there is no problem but I'd like to hear from someone who has tried it.

I have a bunch of JDKs on my machine, both 32bits and 64bits. No problem so far.
