I'm trying to make a feature that allows a user to upload a file to a central database that will be shared and seen by other databases. I'm wondering what would be the best way to go about doing that as I've searched and experimented for the better part of three days only to come up empty handed in my efforts. I'm familiar with how to do file uploads in general, but when I try extending that to a remote service, I run into issues like my InputStream isn't serialized or the File then isn't found. Any help or any guidance would be appreciated as I've basically been banging my head hoping to find something.
My basic idea is that in the user's local database, they would have a entry with a id that links it to the entry with the path on the remote database. The part I'm currently stuck is getting the file to upload in general. I feel once I get that I can hopefully get file downloaded. Let me know if there's any other information I can provide to help.
