ejb singleton as DAO

Hello ranchers
I wonder if someone did part 2 using ejb singleton in the persistence layer as DAO? I believe with JEE6 is not necessary to use stateless since it is not necessary to have a pool for these DAO objects. What do you guys think of this decision?
