I am trying to use this code to change "/" to "\":

From the Java doc

Note that backslashes (\) and dollar signs ($) in the replacement string may cause the results to be different than if it were being treated as a literal replacement string. Erm...why?

"/" is far more universal than "\", which to my knowledge is ONLY used by Windows. Furthermore, if used inside a Java program, it doesn't care - even when running on a Windows system.
