Newbie JSF question re: parameters

I have what is most likely a really simple problem.

One page one I ask the user for a filename that I will use later. They hit submit and I'm able to output the filename on page2. The problem occurs when I try and pass the value of that to something else. Like the following

No matter how I try I just can't seem to be able to pass fileName.name to value, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Welcome to the JavaRanch, "K"!

I don't know exactly how this "b:view" tag is supposed to work, but assuming it behaves like most JSF, the proper syntax would be:

Which would reference the "name" property in the backing bean named "fileName".

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.

That's how I'm doing it :/ Unforunatly what's happening is when I try and pass the value like this

<b:view id="view" filename="#{fileName.name}"/>" </b:view>

filename is treating #{fileName.name} as if it's the value and not trying to get the value of #{fileName.name}

I dunno. I don't know how the "b:view" tag is supposed to work or what defines it.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
