Is there any componenet in swing that allows me to get the calender in box shaped gui.

I need a calnder like the one we see in the windows right hand corner when we click on the time and choose the day. I am unable to find it. Please help me. Also i wanna store the date from that calender into a string and then compare it to a sql date to see if the months match. Please can you help me.

try (toedter's ?) JCalendar, but it's simple enough to build yourself

Sounds like a bad idea to me. Use available API (probably via Calendar) to obtain the months for comparison, not a String intermediary.
