Where is Shale

Early this year Apache made the public announcement that they would be adding this as a sub project to struts. And for a short time there seemed to be a little buzz about it. But since then I've seen nothing/heard nothing new about it. Has anyone else?
Is there anything to work with right now, and if not, when do they expect to put something out there?
Just wondering.

Hello Gran

Shale Framework built on JSF and initiated by Craig McClanahan is a component-based web tier framework that is based on JavaServer Faces and favoring agility, code reuse, unit tests, and building applications by composition instead of inheritance.

For an insider's view of Shale's development, I suggest
David Geary's Weblog

Hope this will help...
