Which book i should read for SCJP 6

Which book i should read for SCJP 6/SCJP7??
And also can you please help me out for which exam i should prepare for,SCJP 6 or SCJA 7.
And is it necessary to have qualified SCJA before appearing for SCJP exams.

For SCJP 6 you can read the Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates book (also called K&B). Go through the ScjpFaq for lot of information regarding SCJP. For SCJP 6 you don't need to give SCJA first, but for SCJP 7 you need to give SCJA before SCJP.

As for SCJP 6 vs SCJA 7, there is no book currently available for SCJA 7 (that I know of

). And I'm not a fan of the new format where you have to give 2 exams to be SCJP. So my suggestion would be to give SCJP 6. Others may disagree...

No prereq for -6, only -7. This is all on Oracle's website btw:

Hi I am preparing for SCJP 6 and using scjp 5 KB book. Can you please tell me what is the difference in scjp 5 and 6? What and how the objectives have changed in scjp 6?

I am planning to give OCPJP 7.
I am about to complete the book 'Head First Java'.
I was wondering whether the exam SCJP 7, of which the name was changed to OCPJP 7, have the same exam topics for the exam, I mean that has Oracle changed the topics... And, for the matter of different topics, does the book 'SCJP 6 Study Guide' by K&B cover the topics for preparing the exam OCPJP 7. Help needed...
