Reviews on Shale framework.

Hi guys,

we will start developing a product within a short period using j2ee.it'll be large and complex project.lot of optimisation and high perfomance is required.

so we seek a web-framework which is suitable for such development.

also all the factors like

>ease of development,
>reusability
>vendor support
>low learining curve
>online material, support , documentataion and many books availability

need to be considered.

After searching I narrowed to JSF, tapestry and Shale.

techinicaly shale looks great but other factor also need to be considered.

can u guys give me any suggestions wether shale is suitable or not.

or may be i should pick any other framework like jsf and tapestry or
combination of framewroks.

Did you try tapestry4?. I have been trying it out during spare time. What can i say - it just works

and howard lewis ship's blog indicates that the final release is around the corner. If you have already made up your mind about tapestry OR JSF, do you think it w'd be a good idea to have 2 of your best developers spend some time developing things that were a pain in previous frameworks in tapestry4 and JSF instead? Both are component based frameworks as against action based. So the learning curve is there. But atleast in tapestry I dont have to edit my htmls to that extent.
jsf is an obvious winner on the vendor support front. But tap-user list is very helpful too. Good luck!
