Hi. I have been reading an article at IBM dW regarding Tapestry that it needs HiveMind lightweight container in order to run. My question is can I use Tapestry with Spring since I'm familiar with it ? In the first place, do you encourage me to learn Tapestry ? Is it easy to learn ? is it an important addition to my arsenal ? is it a powerfull framework ? Thanks.

can I use Tapestry with Spring since I'm familiar with it ? Yes, but Tapestry will still use Hivemind internally. It does not get in the way at all. do you encourage me to learn Tapestry ? I really like Tapestry. But this you will have to decide for yourself Is it easy to learn ? It can be. Tapestry 4.0 is easier than 3.x in my opinion. There is a steep learning curve initially (less steep if you are familiar with frameworks like JSF) because it's not like Struts or WebWork. is it an important addition to my arsenal ? To land a job? Probably not. To know something else. You bet! is it a powerfull framework ? TSS uses Tapestry for it's entire site and I believe NHL.com uses it for most if not all of it's site. I wouldn't say it's any more 'powerful' than any of the other frameworks. It's all just J2EE deep down. But it does allow you to get quick results, IMHO.
