I have read most of this book thanks to my MEAP purchase and I have found it very informative. The book encourages the reader to think of js as a functional language, and it does a very good job of describing functional techniques available to you the newly savvy ninja.

If you're still wondering things like:

- What's a closure?
- What is the global namespace?
- What's a higher order function?
- What is dynamic typing?

This book will help you get comfortable. This book is another reminder that the only "java" in javascript is found in the name.

I'm looking forward to receiving the final version of the book. The clarity and correctness of the prose has improved a lot since the first version I read and, of course, the quality of the ideas was always high.

Thanks for the praise, Rick!

I'll puff my chest up a little for that one. We worked really hard on that part and it's great to get feedback that we succeeded.
