Thinking of a feature for an e - book reader (software). Please tell me if it sounds good, if alternatives exist or if there are any problems.

Create and use 'Tags'. Tags can be used to mark a piece of text when it is highlighted in your e-book.

Lets say I am reading a programming book. I see text that could be useful for an exam, i create a tag called "exam" and a small icon 'T' (yes, T for Tag and Not E for exam) appears above the highlighted text.
Hover over T and you can see other tags too.

To read all my exam related highlights, i can choose an option (somewhere in my GUI) 'get me all exam tags'. Now, I can study for my exam.

Similarly, I can tag something as a "doubt". I collect 5-10 doubts and then ask them on forums or ask a professor.

How does it sound ?

I am a "newbie" too. Please verify my answers before you accept them.

Where should I put the question ? I am hoping to attract as many people as possible to brainstorm this thing.
