I have a website "www.webjyotishi.com" hosted on apache tomcat server.

i have uploaded my website as a war file.

but by defalt the index.jsp is not displaying.

I have to use this an extra file "index.html" to redirect the control to the war file.
index.html contens this line

<meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; url=/web/">

I have some doubts

1. Is this a good or bad prectice?
2. does it affect my website ranking in google
3. is there any other way?

thank you for replying.
this is the tag from my web.xml.
<welcome-file-list>
<welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
</welcome-file-list>

but problem is when we type this address "www.webjyotishi.com" in the address bar of browser it search index file in www folder or public html folder.

but when we upload a war file it goes to apache tomcat root folder .

thats why i have to redirect the request from "www.webjyotishi.com" to "www.webjyotishi.com/web"

/web is a mapped address where the actual index.jsp exists.
