Maybe this deviates too far from the Java focus of the Ranch, but I was wondering if we could get a forum for general questions about functional programming, regardless of the FP language. I know that we have forums for Scala and Clojure, but some (many) questions about FP are not language specific. I'm currently studying Haskell, and next week I start a Coursera class on FP that uses ML and Racket.
Just throwing it out there to see what others think...
"The good news about computers is that they do what you tell them to do. The bad news is that they do what you tell them to do." -- Ted Nelson
Just letting you know that we now have a new Functional Programming forum for sharing ideas and asking questions about FP in general. So if you've got something you want to ask or say about FP that doesn't fit well in the FP language-specific forums, you can try posting it in the new FP forum instead.
Don't thank me - thank the nice folk who run the Ranch!
Incidentally, just FYI, I moved your post about learning FP from the Python forum to the new FP forum - look under "Engineering" --> "Functional Programming".
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
